Save any WhatsApp Status in a few taps
WhatsApp Status photos and videos vanish after 24 hours, but your phone quietly caches every status you view — so there's no downloader link to paste. Instead, you copy the already-downloaded file out of WhatsApp's storage (Android) or capture it with the built-in screen recorder (iPhone). The steps below work for both, with no extra app to install.
View the status first
Open the chat list, tap Updates (or Status) and play the status you want to keep. Watching it once tells WhatsApp to download the file to your phone, which is what makes the next steps possible. Wait for the photo or video to finish loading before you continue.
Save it on Android
Open any file manager and enable "show hidden files". Go to Internal storage → Android → media → com.whatsapp → WhatsApp → Media → .Statuses. Every status you've viewed is there as a photo or video — copy the ones you want into your Gallery or Downloads folder.
Save it on iPhone
iOS hides the .Statuses folder, so use the built-in screen recorder instead. Add Screen Recording to Control Centre, start recording, play the status full-screen, then stop. Trim the clip in Photos, or screenshot a photo status. It saves straight to your camera roll.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about using this free video & audio downloader.
Yes. On Android you can copy the status file straight from the hidden .Statuses folder using any file manager; on iPhone you can use the built-in screen recorder. Neither needs a separate downloader app.
